The Role

Co-op Academies Trust are looking to recruit self-employed child and adolescent therapists to provide therapeutic support and intervention for secondary students (aged 12-16 years) with mental health challenges, which are creating barriers to education in the Greater Manchester area. You will be an accredited (or working towards accreditation) child and adolescent psychotherapist/counsellor, with a minimum of five years’ post qualification experience. We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with a specialist qualification and interest in trauma (eg EMDR, DDP, Theraplay, Somatic Experiencing, Sensory Motor and Trauma Informed CBT).


General Details

Location of the Job: Hybrid face-to-face and online working. Face-to-face locations include at Co-op Academy Failsworth, Co-op Academy North Manchester and Co-op Academy Manchester.

Contractual Terms: Self-employed (minimum 5 hours/week – more available)

Contract duration: Minimum term 12 months

Fees: £40 per hour (subject to qualifications/experience)


REQUIREMENTS & CONDITIONS


  • Hold an appropriate, recognised and accredited qualification in counselling/psychotherapy/social work/clinical psychology or equivalent
  • To organise and attend your own supervision with your external clinical supervisor 
  • To work within nationally agreed clinical and ethical guidelines of UKCP, BACP or agreed equivalent to follow their Code of Practice and Ethics as well as that of Co-op Academies Trust.
  • To provide written clinical file notes and end of therapy reports on each client 
  • To provide written case studies as required by Co-op Academies Trust
  • To conduct evaluations of the therapy as required by Co-op Academies Trust with clients/parents /carers
  • To act as ambassador for Co-op Academies Trust within the organisation within which you are situated
  • To hold professional indemnity insurance.
  • To be a car owner (or have access to transport) to enable travel between locations and to hold a clean licence and be covered by business insurance.


You will be subject to an enhanced check of criminal records via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
