The Role

We’re looking for an experienced HR Manager to join our team supporting the central team and some allocated schools

You’ll be leading the HR function for the Trust’s Central Team and allocated academies, providing operational and strategic HR advice and support, and working in partnership with senior leaders and the wider central and academies team to drive school improvement.

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you’ll be an active member of our wider Regional HR Manager team, working across our organisation as a whole to support casework, deliver training, shape our policies and procedures, and lead on HR workstreams. You’ll also line manage two central HR Advisors.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to broaden their HR experience in a friendly and supportive team. We’re a growing academy-trust, with co-operative values at the heart of everything we do.

CIPD qualified (or equivalent), you must have depth and breadth of experience advising and delivering on a wide range of employee issues, including complex casework, absence management, and recruitment and retention. A pragmatic team-player with great organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to drive work forward on your own initiative, you’re able to build strong working relationships with, and influence the work of, others.

Some home working will be possible but your presence will be needed on a regular basis both in our Central Manchester office at 1 Angel Square and at your allocated academies. Building relationships and regular communication with Headteachers and leaders within the central team will be key to success in the role. Own transport is highly desirable, and a willingness to travel and work flexibly (with due notice) is essential.
